The Exchange at Knowledge Market presents Home Truths, a portrait exhibition of Victoria Harbour locals by Nicholas Walton-Healey.
The Home Truths Portrait Exhibition follows The Exchange portrait workshop, where residents and workers of Victoria Harbour, Docklands were invited to express what ‘home’ means to them. Participants’ portraits were captured by award winning photographer Nicholas Walton-Healey, while The Exchange research team gathered diverse impressions of what home and belonging mean in Victoria Harbour.
Nicholas Walton-Healey is a freelance documentary photographer and PhD candidate at RMIT University in Melbourne. Nicholas' first book Land Before Lines was published in 2014 and presents 68 portraits of Victorian poets (with an accompanying poem written by each). The project Nicholas is currently conducting as part of his PhD research is entitled Where Blood Comes From, an excerpt of which was published by Westerly Magazine in 2013.
