Sensor[ed] exhibition

Cities around the world are building digital infrastructures to measure the urban landscape through sensors. Pedestrian count, air quality, light and sound levels are just a few examples of this sensor-collected data.

How can we bring quantified data out of the digital realm and into everyday experience?

What are the possibilities to use data in creative and socially driven ways?

What are the challenges and opportunities that these technologies afford to the design of the public realm and hence for enabling (re)formulations of the social?

The Exchange at Knowledge Market unpacks these questions in Sensor[ed], an exhibition uncovering possibilities for digital infrastructures in Melbourne.

Developed by RMIT Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Design Innovation and Technology students, Sensor[ed] will showcase a wide range of design proposals for Melbourne, from large urban scale infrastructure to smaller personal interactive devices.

Join us for the opening, engage with the interactive works and join our discussion around digital interaction in the urban realm.

This event is part of Melbourne Knowledge Week, 7 – 13 May 2018, proudly presented by the City of Melbourne.
